Twinklelights Favor'd mountains darkened by December's stingy light, cast shadows 1 remember by the evening's settled night. The season's celebrations reflected on the snow, cast merry colors dancing round those lighted strings that glow. Far across the mountains reach, the twinklelights are there performing for us silently with their Christmas-happy glare. The magic and the promise and the stories that they hold, evoke the childhood memories, of Christmasses of old. My eyes that see from a child's hearts' glee awaken this time of year, to stockings holding treasures, of happy moments near. Of carols sung, and popcorn strung, and kisses on the nose, of presents wrapped, and puppies lapped, and cheeks that nearly froze. But best of all, when the twilight falls, and the twinkling starts their mime, I say a little prayer of thanks, to see it again this time. Cynthia Stamps
