The county’s recently hired zoning administrator and building official Alexander Sharp has begun to familiarize himself with the new job, attending the planning commission meeting last week, but will not officially assume his position until mid-October. Sharp acknowledged that he is not yet very familiar with the county’s zoning and subdivision ordinances but said he planned to attend all meetings of the Rappahannock Planning Commissioners who are now involved with review and revision of local land use regulations.
Bambi and Jon Dinsmore took a short break at the Sperryville Exxon Station last week before tackling the long pedal over the mountains to Luray. On their way to California, they stopped off to visit Captain and Mrs. Howard Holschuh of Castleton. The Holschuhs plan to return the favor with a visit of their own to the Dinsmores who live on a sail boat in the Virgin Islands.
The Rappahannock Planning Commission gave unanimous approval at last Wednesday’s meeting to Rappski Limited’s site plan for subdividing the 300-acre Harris Hollow ski area into nine lots.
