A walk-in clinic will be held at the Rappahannock County Health Department on Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The clinic will be for immunizations, pregnancy tests, blood pressure screen, etc. For additional information call 6753516.

Fourth wine festival set

The fourth annual wine festival will be held at Sharp Rock Vineyards on Saturday, Oct. 6 from noon until 5 p.m. and will include an afternoon of wine tasting and gourmet treats. This year’s festival will feature local apples, pates, Summerfield venison sausage, Our Lady of Angel’s country cheese along with other gourmet cheeses and salads. Foster family reunion slated

Family and friends of the late Jesse, known to many as simply “Pap’\ and Annie Foster are invited to the Foster reunion on Saturday, Sept. 29 at noon at the Fantasy Land Park, Shelter #5 in Front Royal. Pumpkin carving contest set

A pumpkin carving contest sponsored by the Rappahannock County 4-H Adult Leaders Association will be held on Oct. 31. Bring your carved pumpkin to the front of the Washington Arts Building on Gay Street (location of the Extension Office) between 5 and 5:30 p.m. Carved pumpkins will be judged in the following age divisions: 5-8 years, 9-12 years, 13-16 years, and 17 years and older.

Categories in the divisions will be the scariest pumpkin, the funniest pumpkin, and most original pumpkin. Winning pumpkins will receive a ribbon and recipients will receive a special “sweet” surprise. For more information call the Extension Office at 675-3619. All pumpkins must be removed by 9 p.m.

Aerobic classes planned

A healing alternative workshop will be held at Rappahannock Library on Friday, Sept. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. , Three local practitioners, Mary Shepard, Tara Welty and Bonnie Ellis will be on hand to discuss Plant Spirit Medicine and Lymph Drainage Therapy. For additional information call 675-2099.

Karate classes underway

Shorin-Ryu Okinawan karate classes are currently underway at Ki Theatre on Gay Street in Washington.
