Sewer Treatment Plant & Waterworks Operator
The Rappahannock County Water & Sewer Authority is seeking
?ualified applicants for the permanent, full-time position of Sewage reatment Plant & Waterworks Operator (STP & WO). The position is rated at forty (40) hours per week with an on-call and flexible schedule. The Authority in support of the operation of the Sperryville Sewage Treatment Plant (SSTP) and contracting facilities provides motor vehicle, fuel, supplies and equipment.
Applicant must be good health, with ability to work an irregular schedule, including availability on nights and weekends. A valid driver's license with minimal motor vehicle infractions must be maintained, and a clear criminal records background check will be required of all applicants and will be periodically reviewed. The successful applicant must possess and maintain a valid Class III Wastewater License and Class IV Drinking Water license issued by the Virginia Department of Health.
Job responsibilities include all testing and operational oversight of the Sperryville STP, and the monitoring and testing of water systems for the Town of Washington and the Rappahannock County Public Schools (two water supplies).
The position is under the direct supervision of the Authority, with additional support from the County Administrator’s Office.
The salary starts at $20,000.00 - $21,500.00, depending upon qualifications, with full participation in the Authority-sponsored health insurance plan, Virginia Retirement S/stem and other benefits.
