time in Bangkok, Thailand, where she realized her calling as a gleaner and assembler of indigenous materials.
There she found materials such as amulets, silkworm cocoons, mulberry bark paper and flotsam working their way into her work. She also designed a series of wall hangings utilizing the women’s needlework of the Hmong hill tribe.
Drevas commented, “I wanted to honor marvels of enterprise and pride one more time before their final disappearance. And that seems to be what I am pulled to do, to honor that which is about to disappear, to preserve that which is left.”
Blue Ridge Windows’ Art Coordinator, Leigh Beatty, commented, “Jeanne’s house and her work are entangled in a wondrous display of her creativity with surprises around each corner.”
