coming off last week’s rousing victory, in losing to a tough and experienced Orange team with score ending 6-2. Orange scored soon after the kick off, leaving Rapp playing catch-up the whole game.
Our first goal, made on a terrific kick by striker Dean Hogan, followed soon after, and brought our team even for a few minutes. Orange scored again and we tied shortly on an excellent shot by halfback Will Boelte. After that, our defense couldn’t hold and Orange scored four more times. Our players may have been a little tired after the rain caused a reschedule of practice to Friday afternoon - and a spirited one it was. Go Green Dragons!
The U-14 “Riot” played at home against Madison’s team coached by Mr. Laub. Both teams appeared to be evenly matched and the action was up and down the field. “Riot” struggled to get good shots on goal and in the first half Madison was ahead by a 0 - 2 score.
Second half was equally exciting with “Riot” defense holding Madison to one goal. “Riot” controlled a lot of ball time, but had troubles finishing at Madison’s end. The final score: Riot - 0 Madison - 3. “Riot” coaches were left disappointed today that the teamwork was not there..."sometimes a good team needs a good challenge to keep in mind what they can do with teamwork.”
Elbe Dodd-Henze was outstanding in defense second half along Rhonda Jackson and Jeremy Riggleson at midfield, working the ball attack. Riot has 2 wins and 1 loss for the season. Go Riot!
After having a bye last Saturday, our U-18 came out firing on all cylinders. Backed by the strong play of Patrick Lawrey, the sweeper, they only surrendered one goal while scoring seven themselves.
Goal scorers were Zach Ashby with three goals, Doug White , two goals, and Adrianne Moore and Bren Miller with one goal each.
