• The halls of RCES were recently filled with the smiles and laughter of grandparents visiting our First Grade classrooms. RCES First Graders celebrated Grandparents Day on Monday, Sept. 10. First Grade teacher Deborah Flinchum reported that grandparents were graciously welcomed by their grandchildren and served a delicious cup of pudding prepared by the students.
Students read sentences and shared illustrations of why their grandparents are special to them. Then some grandparents shared stories about when they were young. Differences in the prices of movie tickets, gas, stamps, etc. were mentioned. Differences in school services such as food, transportation, classrooms, etc., were also discussed.
