degree from Temple University in Communications, Mr. Candenquist served six years in the Air Force including service in Vietnam. He is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the National Fire Protection Association.
He aids our community as a volunteer Firefighter with 40 years of fire service. He currently serves as Safety Officer with the rank of Captain. He and his wife Cindy live near Amissville.
Mr. Candenquist's fascination with the War Between the States began in his childhood. He has published articles on some lesser-known aspects of the war, including the difficulty of keeping time during the war years when no standard Time had been established and on the Confederacy's inauguration of the world’s first military railroad.
The Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table welcomes anyone at its meetings and encourages those who enjoy learning more about American history to become members. A list of future speakers, events, and tours is available at the meetings.
