Recreation Facility studies report

Paul Bernard of Rickmond Engineering. Inc. presented the Board with the results of his firm's four month study to create a master plan for the schools' athletic and recreational facilities. Superintendent Dr. David (langel expressed his pleasure at the results of Rickmond Engineering's' efforts. He also noted that a recent and successful lawsuit in the Commonwealth would necessitate an alignment of hoys and girls sports seasons by 2003 and Rappahannock’s existing facilities would he inadequate for the task, hut the options presented in the master plan would provide the space necessary’.

To prepare the plan. Mr. Barnard said, existing facilities and resources were identified, and County and school personnel were interviewed to obtain information on existing and planned programs. The firm then determined additional facilities that would he necessary to achieve program objec
