The final quarter was a repeat of the third and the Junior Panthers, still unable to handle the Signal Knob pressure, fell 44 to 37. It was a tough loss for the team before the home crowd.

Volleyball

The Varsity Volleyball team traveled to Madison County High School over the break to participate in the 8th annual Mountaineer Classic. This years' competitors were Rapp, William Monroe, Orange, Brentsville, Madison. Manassas Park. Louisa, and Fluvana High Schools. After an opening match loss to William Monroe two games to one <15-10, 12-15,11-151, the Lady Panthers came back to win their match with Orange County HS two games to none < 16-14, 15-7).

Junior Rachel Sharp had 15 kills in this match behind the superb setting of sophomores Lara Krevling and Ashleigh Burke. This win set the stage for the alwaystense confrontations with arch rival Madison County. You could feel the tension as the Lady Panthers tried to defeat the Lady Mountaineers in their gym. Earlier in the season, the Rapp side had won 2-0 at the RCHS gym and now, the Madison squad was bent on returning the favor.
