• Director of Curriculum and Instruction Richard Smith presented a revised draft "Six Year International Baccalaureate Plan Objectives. 2001 - 2007." This draft presents objectives for training, student preparation, staffing, class offerings. and budgeting through the point at which t,he IB Program will he fully implemented.
• The Board approved a revision of the leave policy that retains the general leave policy as it was. hut offers employees who have 35 or more days of sick leave the right to use sick leave for family illnesses as well as personal illness. The revision is retroactive to the- beginning of this schixil year. *
• Rose Ann Sharp reported that she was disappointed by the report made by Boh Dennis to the Board of Supervisors on progress of the “Alternative School Funding Committee.” The Board discussed school funding and grant writing, and the possibility , of Headwaters support for a grant writer.
V Mr. Raines reported on the donation of a computer and peripherals by Dr. Gangel. and a cash donation of $600 for RCES supplies by the Rappahannock Farm Bureau.
•. RCES Teacher Susan Pavne made a plea to the Board for a change in early release time from 1:40 pan. to 11 a.m. to provide teachers with more work time. Dr. Gangel said that her arguments had merit, and proposed that he and the Board further investigate the propos
