• Budget and Finance Committee member Frank Warner made clear that the Board spends ample time and care in reviewing and discussing bills before any payments are rendered. His clarification ; were made, apparently, because of some comments from community members, that he characterized as incorrect, about the pro forma nature of the Board's bill-paying.

• Mr. Mills announced that there will be a meeting in the RCHS Auditorium on Jan. 23 at 3:45 p.m. to discuss results of the Effective Schools Study.

• Dr. Gangel presented the first cut of a revenue budget for fiscal year 2002-2003. The budget presents a forecasted shortfall in State revenue of some $184,000. compared to the current year. He stressed, however, that this is based upon the outgoing Governor’s recommendations, and revisions are expected.

• The Board approved revised calendars for the 20022003 school year: The first day of school is scheduled for Aug. 26, 2002. and school is scheduled to end on June 10. 2003.
