• Mr. Anderson requested that the Board consider offering $2,000 for lobbying in support of proposed new legislation that would provide additional authority to local jurisdictions to control the land application of sludge. Mr. Estes successfully proposed that the Board defer discussion to the February meeting “to see if the bill comes up.”

• Mr. McCarthy reported that there would be a meeting in the Washington Town Hall on Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the future of the Independence Day Celebrations.
