WORLD SAFE FOR CHILDREN
When the unthinkable happens, and this country witnesses senseless and savage loss of life: we may be at a loss to explain and aeeept the tragedy. As frightening as this terrible tragedy is for adults, it is more so for children. Parents should strive to reassure their children that they are safe, even when the world seems otherwise. While children in the first years of elementary school should be shielded from information about terrorism as much as possible, parents can help their older children by stay mg close to them and allow mg them to express their fears and anxieties. It is important not to be dismissive of the situation. With any hiss, regardless of magnitude, it is import to address it.
As adults, we are given the task of making an unsafe world feel safe to children.
