She also designed a series of wall hangings utilizing the women's needlework of the Hmong hill tribe.
Drevas commented. "I wanted to honor marvels of enterprise and pride one more time before their final disappearance. And that seems to be what 1 am pulled to do. to honor that which is about to disappear, to preserve that which is left. My newest work with natural materials reflects what I find around me, and while the earth's forests are disappearing due to man's inexhaustible desires, our woods of Rappahannock County, Va. run rampant and generous with it's natural offerings.''
The McGuffy Art Center is located at 201 Second Street, N.W., Charlottesville and is open. Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
