The Rappahannock (’ountv School Board initiated the year 2002 by picking its officers and representatives for the calendar year.
Nominations for Wesley Mills as Chairman. Aline Johnson as Vice-Chairman, Jack Raines as Clerk. David Gangel as Deputy Clerk, and Jack Raines as Superintendent's Designee were all unanimously okayed, and Rosa ('rocker was returned as Headwaters Representative, while Mrs. Johnson will again serve as George Washington Carver/ Piedmont Board Representative.
The School Board also agreed to continue its standard meeting schedule i primary meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. for the open session >, and to use the same committee organization for the time being.
After the conclusion of the organizational matters. Chairman Mills reviewed' Closed Session actions, which included acceptance of coaching recommendations for the new year.
Coaching positions filled are: Phillip Herzig as Assistant Wrestling Coach, Michael Strand and Jason Gochenour as Co-Boys'Jr. Panther Basketball Coaches. Shay Bell as Boys' Varsity Soccer Coach. Jon Smythe as Girls' Varsity Softball Coach. Michael Strand as Bovs'Varsity Baseball Coach. Jared Nieters as Girls' Varsity Soccer Coach, Ann Spieker as Boys' and Girls' Varsity Track Coach, and Scott Stephens and Kara Krueger as Co-Assistant Varsitv Track Coaches.
