ongratulations are in order to Director David
Shaffer and the Rappahannock Library for the
new electronic resources databases that will provide a great service to the residents of Rappahannock.
The new service provides homework help, health advice and massive newspaper and magazine archives.
According to Director Shaffer, “Through the Library’s Internet gateway, Rappahannock county residents can access resources that are usually only found in major city or research libraries.” What an opportunity for a county with less than 7,000 people!
For Rappahannock students, there’s a wealth of information that can help with homework assignments. Products designed for specific age groups allow students to find newspaper and magazine articles at their reading level.
The Library was able to acquire these databases by participating in a program with the Library of Virginia.
Public libraries simply need computers and Internet connectivity to participate and we are grateful to the “Friends of the Library” for providing the computers there.
