The Rappahannock County Garden Club met in January to discuss Organic Gardening — Why Bother?
The discussion was led by Donna Marquisee, the gardener/greenhouse grower at Sunnyside Farms.
She began by putting gardening in a historical perspective. She pointed out that the early settlers of our land were all growing “organically,” the natural way. They brought seeds with them when they settled, saved their seeds from year to year, and relied on information about natural ways to manage their crops passed on to them from previous generations.
