A week ago last Friday m v mother died and I lost the one whose gift of love propelled me from an infant into the adult I am today. Iva Mae?known as Trixie bv all who knew her?was a homemaker during an age when few' women worked outside the home. She was always there for me, when I returned from school, came home for Christmas from college or returned to Luray on weekends from my job in Washington.
Her death, at seventynine w'as not unexpected, but a shock nonetheless. The hole it leaves in me will never be refilled, but I have the love of Nadia and our sons as I go forward without mom.
For all of you who prayed, sent messages and flow'ers, attended the “wake" or funeral, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
