Sean Robertson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Robertson, won the senior division with his project entitled “A Tale of Two Cells.’’ Robertson extended his animal cell regeneration project from last year by comparing the regeneration of plant and animal cells.
His study involved the use of African violet tissue and Planarian (simple flatworms) tissue. Robertson reached the conclusion that Planarian cells regenerate faster than African violet cells but African violet cells withstand more harsh conditions.
