After driving up and down 1-95 on my trips to Richmond. I noticed that most of our neighboring states get along with only a rear plate. Why not Virginia?
The opposition to one vehicle tag came fast and furious from law' enforcement officers in the District. My friends in the State Police, sheriff departments and town police departments argued strongly that the front license plate was a valuable tool in apprehending wrong doers. After their opposition, I would be less than totally frank with you if I professed strongly that my bill would get out of the Transportation Committee during this session of the General Assembly.
If one Virginia license plate is not a cost saving option, what positive saving suggestions do our law enforcement personnel offer in the alternative?
