Congratulations to the RCPS Middle School Basketball team on their strong win against North Fork Middle School last Wednesday at RCHS. The Middle School students traveled to the high school after school for their Incentive Party to cheer on their friends as they defeated the competition handily.
• On Jan. 24 John Jenkins, Band Director from a magnet school in Norfolk, visited Rappahannock to work with our Band students in 5th through 12th grades. His inspiring style motivated students on all instruments, but especially our percussionists. He remained to work after school with our percussion section until 5 p.m. We heard rave reviews all day about his performance. Many thanks to Mrs. Fournier and the Band Boosters for affording our students this wonderful opportunity.
• Many thanks to Headwaters for sponsoring the latest in their Education Forum series on Jan. 24. This forum focused on the International Baccalaureate program and what it will mean for our school system. Mr. Bob Snee, Principal of George Mason High School, spoke on the merits and mechanics of the program.
