Sperryville resident
Mrs. Louise Mildred Alther, 88, of Sperryville died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
She was bom Jan. 10, 1914 in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Will and Rebecca Jenkins.
Mrs. Alther was a homey maker and a former member of F.T. Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Marie Brown and her husband, H. Bruce of Woodville, Rebecca Menefee of Sperryville and Annie Jeffries of New Baltimore and two sons. Jonas Alther Jr. of Washington and George Alther and his wife. Lou Ann of Remington.
Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; seven greatgreat-grandchildren; one-step grandchild and two-step greatgrandchildren. ,
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Jonas Alther; ten brothers and sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Jan. 26 at Found and Sons Chapel with Rev. John K. Burke officiating. Burial followed at Washington Masonic Cemetery.
