Earl C. Sherertz Jr., 81, of Shenandoah died on Friday, Jan. 18 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was bom on Nov. 14, 1920 in Washington, D.C. and was a son of the late Earl Sherertz Sr. and Katie Sherertz.
Mr. Sherertz retired from C&P Telephone Company, now Bell Atlantic in Washington, D.C., in 1976. He was a member of the Methodist church, and was past president of the Suitland, Md. Lions Club and Demalays in Alexandria.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, stationed at the Naval Research Lab in Washington, D.C.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Sylvia “Sue” Felty Sherertz are a son, Larry Sherertz of Washington; three daughters, Linda Jaouad of Alexandria, Sally Sherertz of Lorton and Susan Boone of Woodbridge; two sisters, Katherine Gartrell of Arlington and Genevieve Sherertz of Richmond; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, Jan. 21 at the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Elkton by the Rev. Stephen Creech and Rev. Hudson Nuckols. Burial was in the E.U.B. Cemetery in Shenandoah.

Chrisman Jr., 86, of Sperryville died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at his residence.
He was bom March 15,1915 in Roanoke, a son of the late Campbell H. Chrisman Sr. and Ethel Fox Chrisman.
