Baccalaureate
service slated
Baccalaureate services will be held at the Rappahannock County High School on Sunday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Dan Britton, President of Fellowship Christian Athletics of Northern Virginia.
It’s carnival time
in Sperryville
Sperryville will be the first of the County’s fire departments to host their annual fund raising carnival days this year. The dates are June 5, 6, 7 and 8 and will be held on the fire grounds in Sperryville.
Fleet Amusements out of Richmond will be providing rides this year which should feature four to five rides for older children and adults and two or three rides for the younger children.
The parade will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. Those wishing to place an entry should call Richie Baldwin at 987-3326. Businesses and civil organizations are encouraged to participate.
The queen will be crowned on Saturday and at midnight the awarding of the grand prizes will be held.
As always, the Ladies Auxiliary will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, baked goods, etc. Anyone wishing to contribute baked goods should contact Michelle Jenkins at 987-9440.
DARE/Field Day
at RCES on May 31
DARE Day and Field Day will be held at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Friday, May 31.
DARE activities will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Exhibit area must be cleared by 1 p.m. Field Day activities organized by Ms. Carol Nowakoski will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Rappahannock County Public Schools will conduct “Child Find” on the same day. Parents with questions about their child’s development are encouraged to bring your child between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on that day. A group of specialists will be on hand to talk with parents and answer questions.
