Washington. Located in the basement of the Washington Post Office Building, the program known as Sursum Corda School, is run by Camille Harris, Susan Lann and Mary Kaye DeLuise. All three are elementary school teachers with years of experience.
William F. Bear of Washington, Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 123, is among the 11 Boy Scout leaders who have accepted an invitation to participate in a week-long training course to be held Aug. 13-20 at Camp Rock Enon. Wood Badge, the name given the course, is the fourth phase of the Scout Leader Development Program.
Girls from Rappahannock’s Cadette, Junior and Brownie Scout groups visited Mount Vernon and had a cruise down the Potomac River on May 21. There were 64 attending with some parents included.
Wade W. Massie of Washington has received the Juris Doctor degree in ; commencement exercises May 8 from the University of Richmond. Massie, the son of Mr. Wade H. Massie III, attended the T.C. Williams School of Law, a division of the university. He received his pre-law education from the University of Virginia.

Rappahannock County Garden Club President Marian White opened the May 20 meeting with the statement that the club took major honors at the recent state convention: four district awards for scholarship, yearbook, newsletter and club publications; the state award for Christmas open house and a certificate of excellence for club accomplishments for the year. The Rappahannock Club competes with 76 District clubs and 376 statewide.
