The following was submitted by a Rappahannock flews reader in memory and bonor of Mrs. Sally Keyser, our dear and beloved Sperryville correspondent, Who died on Friday, May 17.
What will Sperryville do without Sally Keyser? Those who knew her knew one of a kind. Our hearts go out to her family and friends.
I wasn't lucky enough to know her personally, but I sure knew her through her columns. Like many others in "greater Sperryville and beyond, throughout the county and beyond, every week I looked for Sally's column in the Rapp News, just as I used to look forward to John Trott, the Virginia Naturalist. ] There are others in our Community like Sally, elders who have wonderful stories to tell about the old days. I hope they are telling them, and I hope their grandchildren — and the rest of us — are listening!
Sperryville is a historic place, in every respect. I know Main Street won't forget its heritage as it enters the 21st century with a bang.
