Cotillion plans open house

The National League of Junior Cotillions has scheduled a parents’ reception and registration for the 2002-2003 season. The reception will be held Sunday, June 2 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Aberdeen Barn, Holiday Inn in Culpeper. Director Gail Turnbull of Viewtown invites interested Rappahannock parents to attend. For information regarding membership call 937-8959 or plan to attend the reception. Refreshments will be served and children are welcome to attend with their parents or grandparents.

Art in the Park registration set

There are still spaces available for Art in the Park this summer through the Windmore Foundation. Classes will be held July 15-19 for six to eight year old children. The 9-12 year old classes will be held the week of July 22-26. All classes will be in the Fellowship Hall of the Culpeper Methodist Church.

A fee of $25, which covers all materials, is payable at sign-up. Checks should be made payable to Windmore. The Windmore and Kids art program allows children to make a different art project each day. An art show for all the children's work will be held Friday, July 26 at the Culpeper Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. If you have questions call the Windmore Office at 547-2555.

Cookbook to be published

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is putting together a community cookbook. Anyone who would like to submit a favorite recipe to the included in the cookbook should mail the same to Diane Weakley at P.O. Box 127, Sperryville, Va. 22740 or Bonnie Turley at P.O. Box 409, Sperryville, Va. 22740. The proceeds from the cookbook will go to support the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.

Seeking players for soccer

The FCSC Sparklers, currently a U10 girls travel soccer, team is seeking players for fall 2002 as they move up to U11. The team practices on Monday and Thursday evenings at Fauquier High School in Warrenton. For information e-mail Coach Woulfe at woulfe@infi.net or call 540-364-1904.

Clinic will be open May 29

The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first, third and fifth Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, May 29 and not again until June 5.
