The month of May is an incredibly busy time by anyone s standards. Be it public school or private school, the month is filled with anticipation and dread. It s the culmination of a long school year, it s Prom, it s the AP Exams, it's realizing that soon you'll say goodbye...
• Prep School students at Wakefield Country Day School turned out in force for Prom 2002 held at the romantic Marriott Ranch.
Young ladies in long, wispy dresses and young men in suits or tuxedos strolled around the grounds, and as it grew dark, danced in the stately former home of the Marriott family.
As always, the Ranch provided elegant food and scrumptious desserts, which only the chaperones ate. (Just kidding! The chaperones let the students near the buffet occasionally.) It was a wonderful evening, and the students had a great time.
• Prep School students survived two weeks of AP exams, and now the entire school is engulfed in studying for end-of-year exams.
School is over at WCDS May 31, with the Lower School Graduation later that night, and the Prep School Graduation on Sunday evening in the Lynn Senior Garden.
With graduation looming, comes the realization that our seniors will be leaving us soon. How much they've meant to all of us! We often take for granted these funny, sweet young people, but events in the near past have taught us that we need to savor every moment.
