“We have a terrific value here. We sell this for $99, and it goes for $250 at other places. That fringed jacket,” he said, pointing to one on the top row, “that’s a $300 jacket anywhere. Here we sell it for $149.”

Used bikes

All the motorcycles are used, though that’s kind of a funny term to use when they carry such lowmileage. One had only 37 miles on it when Paolicelli bought it. Now it has about 75.

“We’re selling everything from dirt bikes to Harley-Davidsons,” he stated. “Motorcycles have never been better than today. They’re much more reliable.”

Paolicelli had just returned from a buying trip to New- Jersey and he rolled up on his new purchase when he opened the store in the morning.

“I went to White House, New Jersey yesterday,” he stated. “I went to get this ‘92 Sportster 1200, w-ith 3,000 miles on it. I go w here I have to go to get the nicest stuff.”

And though he loves the machines, he’s pricing them to move, including the 1970 Triumph 250, which is “about a museum piece now,” Paolicelli said.

“Everything’s for sale,” he said. “I’m not trying to keep anything.”

And yet he confesses that this time of year is the hardest time to accumulate an inventory.

“Who wants to sell now? The weather’s getting nicer ... this is the time that people want to be out riding. The best time to buy a motorcycle is when people aren’t interested in riding, which is usually in December or January.”

At present his store doesn’t have the space to have a service area, but Paolicelli intends to rectify that situation in the future if he can expand to a larger location.

Like a lot of people who go into business for themselves, Paolicelli could be making more money doing his old job, but that he’s enjoying himself is evident. He’s just a big fan of motorcycles.
