The Rapp Hurricanes U10 girls played in a barnburner of a makeup game, Monday night. May 20, at the Rappahannock Elementary fields against Culpeper. We had great fan support as parents and players from earlier practices stuck around to cheer us on. The game had a playoff feel to it with the chilly night air, the excited fans, and the intense play of those on the field. Culpeper went up 2-0 in the first half on a pair of breakaway runs.
The Hurricanes didn’t fold but came back stronger than ever, taking multiple shots on goal but either hitting the posts or missing the posts by less than a foot. The Culpeper goalie also made plenty of quality saves. The sheer number of close shots had the fans in agony or ecstasy depending on who they were rooting for.
