Ben “Cooter” Jones will officially kickoff his campaign for Virginia’s Seventh Congressional Seat on June 2 with a formal announcement at a fundraiser picnic in Rappahannock County. The event will be an “old fashioned” barbecue picnic at Over Jordan Farm in Flint Hill’s Bean Hollow beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Candidate Jones has been tirelessly “stumping’ throughout the Seventh District, and says that he has been looking forward tc “sending a clear and strong message of my candidacy tc Virginia’s voters. I can’1 think of a better time oi place to make that formal statement than right here at home.”

Jones, a native Virginian, served two terms in Congress (1988-1992) as a representative from Geor*-' gia. Tickets for the picnic are $25 per person. For reservations and information call 675-3515, 6310839, or 987-8847.
