You Northern Virginians could join the Northeast, while we would remain in the South. You could elect governors of your own—people like Maryland’s Paris Glendenning or Kathleen Kennedy Townsend—while we continue to elect our good ole boys. You could have high taxes and crowded schools and clogged roads and matchboxes on mini-lots that sell for a million bucks, and we could keep open spaces and woods and small villages and more cows than people.
