of the next presentation at the Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table, on Aug. 20. The speaker will be Melissa Delcour, who teaches English and psychology at Rappahannock County High School and is a published historian who has studied the Civil War in our local area including Warren County, Rappahannock County, and Fauquier County.
She has extensively researched Jackson’s Valley Campaign as well as the career of Jeb Stuart. She is currently at work on the military exploits of a Fauquier hero of the Civil War, General Lunsford Lomax.
This month the Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table meets at the Rappahannock County Library on Tuesday, Aug. 20 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., 4 Library Lane, off Lee Highway, US 211, outside of Washington. Everyone is encouraged to attend; the meeting is free to non-members, who are encouraged to enjoy and join.
Ms. Delcour will also be serving as the tour guide for the Warren County portion of the special Civil War bus • tour the Round Table is offering on Saturday, Oct. 26. This year’s bus trip, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., is to sites of Civil War history in Rappahannock and Warren Counties.
