Sperryville Methodist to host picnic
Members of the Sperryville Methodist Church would like to extend an invitation to the Rappahannock community to attend a church picnic on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock Park. Food will be provided.
CPR class offered

Foxhunting survival clinic set
The Rappahannock Hunt is pleased to present Oliver Brown’s annual foxhunting survival clinic on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Hunter’s Haven at Reva. The clinic is geared to help horse and rider survive in the hunt field and each horse/rider is assisted at their level of ability. Lunch and refreshments are included. The morning session is from 9 to 11 a m. and the afternoon session will be conducted from 1 to 3 p.m. Entry fee is $50. Celebration at ECOW
Come celebrate the harvest of the “Tomato”' at the Epicurious Cow on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m. Over 20 varieties of tomatoes, eight assorted goat cheeses and wines paried to perfection sampled by Klaus Witteaur from Select Imports will be featured. For more information call 675-2269.
Dances planned at Town Hall
There will be dances of Universal Peace, or Sufi Dancing, at the Washington Town Hall on Friday. Aug. 16 from 7-9 p.m. These dances are led by Mariah Dean and feature the live music of Smiggy Smith and others. There is a suggested donation of $5 per person. Tribal belly dancing offered
Tribal belly dancing with Charmaine Lee will be held at the Washington Town Hall each Wednesday now through Aug. 21. Cost is $15 for an hour and a half class from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Rehearsal afterwards for a half an hour for those interested in performing. Participants should bring a mat.
