CRH activities set

Agent to visit in October

Walt Phillips, the VA Claims Agent, will not be coming to the Culpeper VEC for his monthly visits in August or September due to other commitments. His next scheduled visit will be Oct. I 7. For additional information call 829-7430.

Demolition Derby set

Applications are now being accepted for the Demolition Derby to be held Saturday, Aug. 24 during the Page Fair in Luray and Rappahannock residents are encouraged to participate. Drivers must be 21 years of age. Cars may include any American made stock, hardtop automobile or station wagon. Official entry blanks are available by calling 743-4949. The fair runs from Aug. 18 through Aug. 24.

Aerobic classes at Trinity

Ongoing aerobic classes are held at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 8 to 9:30 a.m. For information call Beth Levick at 635-6149.

Civil War Days plan ned

Plans are underway for the fourth annual Sperryville Civil War Days, which will be held this year on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22. Weekend events will include encampments by uniformed Civil War re-enactors. Musicians will perform the music of the Civil War era. Authors of Civil War books will discuss and sign their books at the Old Sperryville Bookshop. A street fair along Main Street will feature vendors of Civil War-related items.
