Quilting group
now forming
The Rappahannock Quilting group will start their new season on Sept. 10. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Library on US 211.
The season is September through May. This season will begin by making a Log Cabin block and quilting it. Whether you have quilted before or would like to learn to quilt, all are welcome to join.

with Ben Jones
Barbara Stockton is hosting an evening of conversation with Ben Jones on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 7 until -9 p.m. at her home in the Town of Washington. Ben and his wife Alma will be especially looking forward to meeting people who've not. h$d the chance at other meet and greets in the county to talk to l\4r. Jones and get their questions answered. “The Wonders of
Wood” on exhibit
The Middle Street Gallery presents a group show entitled “The . Wonders of Wood.” On exhibit through Sept. 1 are works by local artists which employ wood as medium or explore the idea of wood as theme. You’ll see a crosssection of techniques, including furniture, sculpture, painting, and drawing, that simultaneously uphold tradition and stretch existing boundaries.
The gallery is open every Friday through Sunday between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. It is located on Middle Street in the town of Washington next to The Inn. Call the gallery at 675-3440 for more information.
