the Mid-Atlantic camp with 8th grader Eve Nealon, who was awarded a trophy for the most improved beginner flag. All three are ready to teach others the moves they need for parades and our special pregame show this year as well as beginners from RCES.
Drum-line wins
summer awards
Our RCHS drum-line has been busy all summer winning awards wherever they go. They took first place in Amissville, Sperryville, Flint Hill, and Stephens City with an additional award for appreciation. They also marched in the Brandy Station parade on Aug. 1 and took second place.
Percussion Captain Brian Taylor, Samantha Brown, Anthony Clinedinst, Matt Swain and Ben Verrill, attended the JMU Band Camp for drum-line, successfully learning advanced drumming, moving and sticking procedures. They are ready to teach these techniques to other percussionists from both schools as well as band members who wish to leam these as a second instrument.
