Shenandoah National Park will continue its summer seminar series on Saturday, Aug. 10 with its first nighttime seminar, Shenandoah at Night. This program will provide an opportunity for participants to explore the park at night, discover the animals that emerge after sunset and dee the stars of the summer sky. * Park scientists and local researchers will lead participants on an evening of handson exploration of Shenandoah Rational Park’s nightlife. Local astronomers will point out the wonders to be observed in the night sky and help participants identify the prominent summer constellations visible to the naked eye.
Aug. 10 is the time of the famous annual Perseid meteor shower. With no obscuring lights or obstructing structures to impede the view, SNP 4s a wonderful place to watch this yearly event.
