The Rappahannock School Board adopted a "no-nonsense" weapons' policy Tuesday which is stricter than a recent policy passed by the Virginia General Assembly.
The state legislature had said that knives used for work and hunting weapons are no longer banned at schools. These items could be in possession of either a student or visitor.
The board decided to place a clause in the school's handbook which states that Rappahannock's School Board would not tolerate any weapons, period, on school grounds, despite the recent alterations to state policy allowing hunting weapons stored on racks and knives used for work purposes, to be transported onto school property.
