The Inaugural Committee of Washington with L. V. Merrill, chairman, is putting the final touches on the installation ceremony for the AllLady Council and Lady-Mayor who take over the town government on Sept. 1.
The ladies will be escorted into office in a style befitting the interests of the community. High executives of Ford Motor Company are supporting the occasion with their presence and as many new Fords, Mercuiys and Lincolns as may be necessary to furnish transportation for the parade.
Several Rappahannock citizens were on hand Saturday to join with about 3,000 others as guests of Senator Byrd at his annual picnic at “Rosemont” near Berryville.
