“People in the county probably do not sense a difference in the five district boundaries until they vote,” said McCarthy.
Those who are on the borders of Jackson district, for example, may now have to vote in Stonewall-Hawthome district. Individuals who are registered to vote are notified by mail if there is a change in their voting place. Primarily this concerns voting for the Board of Supervisors and the county School Board.
All of the other county, state, and federal elections are tallied county-wide rather than by district.
