eight of the nine Virginia Civil War Trails sites and one Virginia Department of Historic Resources marker in Page County. He has been involved in marking no less than 13 sites to date with Virginia Civil War Trails markers and Virginia Department of Historic Resources markers.
Moore has also served as chairman for the Page County Civil War Commission. He is presently the Commander of the 4th Brigade, Virginia Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans and is the Commander of the Summers-Koontz Camp #490, Sons of Confederate Veterans in Luray, tracing his lineage to at least six direct Confederate ancestors that served in artillery, cavalry and infantry units from Page County.
Recently he has published the definitive guidebook for the Civil War in Page County, “Avenues of Armies,” copies of which will be on sale at his presentation., The book includes over 300 miles of self-guided driving tours to over 94 stops at 70 different historic buildings and sites.
