acters in a book of fiction. The truth is always stranger than fiction, have you heard? Often the truth remains behind closed doors, or in our neighbor’s heart.
I need a local newspaper that respects the community of Rappahannock and does not lose sight of the truth when reporting the complexities of our county and the challenges we face in the coming years.
Larry Sherertz can be trusted to work for the safety of our community. That is his job. No v one pays him to do otherwise. The stand he took against the commercial use of Schoolhouse Road was made for the safety of the children of this county. He was not alone in that opposition.
His actions remind me of the lessons Alan Zuschlag learned from the late Dr. Werner Krebser. I respectfully quote. . . “have the courage of your own convictions. If you believe in something strongly, if you are convinced that something is the right thing to do, follow that path. Do not be dissuaded by the unpopularity of your views, or the potential for making enemies. Life is not a popularity contest, it is a struggle to be true to certain moral precepts—to do good.”
I will vote in November for a sheriff who does the same. I am sure that person is our current sheriff, Larry Sherertz.
