hannock faced off with Glen Allen of Richmond. Glen Allen was an early favorite to finish in the top two spots of the tournament. Glen Allen scored four runs in the first inning on three walks and a single after several Rappahannock miscues. Glen Allen went on to score 10 runs to record a five-inning shutout. Rappahannock hit the ball hard all day long, but every ball was hit directly at a Glen Allen fielder and they made all the plays.
Rappahannock’s loss left the team in fourth place. The top three teams were Glen Allen, Greene County and Manassas.
The Rappahannock team played with the heart of a champion and each player should be congratulated on such a fine season.
The Rappahannock coaches and large fan base are very proud of this group of fine young men. We left the tournament with quite a few fans from around the state.
