Over 100 sixth-grjrde art students from five counties in Central Virginia submitted artwork in a recent competition to ljave it reproduced on greeting cards as a fundraiser for Hospice of the Rapidan.
From 117 entries in a wide and debghtful variety of styles, judges managed to select five winners: Austin Burdick of Rappahannock, Shelby Lukachik of Culpeper, Kellie Baxter of Fauquier, Brianna Beere of Madison, and Jessica Lofgren of Orange.
Judges for the competition were professional artists and art teachers selected from Hospice of the Rapidan staff, volunteers, family members, and participants in last year’s Art Show and Sale reception. They faced the difficult task of choosing just one winner from a county’s worth of entries.
