Coach Spath came to Rappahannock County High School last season as the head coach. He has realized that if he expects his wrestlers to push themselves to be the best they can be, he must practice what he preaches.
Spath, also a 2x All-American prior to coming to RCHS, traveled to Virginia Beach with Bradley, his step-son. He competed in the Open College Division, placing second in the nation and adding his third AllAmerican status to his resume.
Coach Spath welcomes any Rapp wrestlers to come to open mat Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 5 p.m. through the second week in August to get back into shape for the Varsity season. He also encourages those who are interested in the sport, but don’t know much about it to stop by and see what it is all about.
“We have some new things going on this upcoming year,” said Spath, “including some additions to the room, hosting a fall tournament and a plaque to honor pqst and present AllState, All-Region and AllDistrict wrestlers.”
