She is quite matter-of-fact, even downright hard on herself, when it comes to self appraisals. "I’m a loner actually,” she said. “I’ve never been popular or interested in fame, and I was raised modestly but to be confident in myself.”
Her parents, Jim and Evelyn Oyster, are appropriately proud of her, and their interest in her ambitions seems healthy and grounded.
“When kids dream, you want to encourage them,” says her mother, Evelyn. “Jim kids her by saying he’s going to be her manager; I’m going to be her mom-ager.
