Two public meetings
The Commonwealth Transportation Board will hold public hearings on its “austere” sixyear, $6.3 billion road construction and engineering program beginning at 5 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the VDOT Northern Virginia District Fairfax Room, 14685 Avion Parkway, Chantilly, Va., and the VDOT Salem District Auditorium, 731 Harrison Avenue, Salem, Va. The highway officials will speak from closed circuit television from Richmond.
A funding conference will be scheduled on a request by Lord Fairfax Community College to increase Rappahannock’s share of its costs to offset a construction program for its Middletown campus. In 2003, some 92 Rappahannock students attended Middletown and another 93 attended the Fauquier campus.
