According to Liberty Athletic Director Jerry Carter, rising costs of uniforms (jerseys alone can be as much as $85) is the main factor at his school.
“No students are allowed to wear school-owned uniform paraphernalia to class. Our athletes wear ties on game days,” Carter said. “Our sideline cheerleaders can wear their sweats to promote team spirit and let everyone know there is a game.”
